On Saturday 26th November about 30 members of FCS travelled over to St Hilary's Church, Wallasey for the concert by Birkenhead Choral Society.
Formby Choral Society sends it congratulations to our friends in BCS for memorable evening celebrating 20 years with their present conductor - who just happens to be ours too!!
It was a fabulous performance, enjoyed by a capacity audience, of two lovely works: Mozart's Requiem and Haydn's Nelson Mass. The Liverpool Philharmonia, who also play for FCS were on fine form, led by Arfona Griffiths, and with Ian Roberts from Chester Cathedral playing the organ continuo part, which is a vital part of the Haydn Mass.
The BCS choir was out in force, and in fine voice, responding to their conductor, and clearly focussed and thoroughly rehearsed in these two great works.
